In the first issue in January, it was reported Cochise County Board of Supervisors Tom Crosby and Peggy Judd, who were indicted by the State Grand Jury charging them with election interference and conspiracy pled not guilty to felony charges for delaying the certification of their county’s 2022 midterm election results on December 21. Cochise County Supervisors Peggy Judd and Tom Crosby are charged with conspiracy and interfering with an election officer.

In the second issue of the month, it was reported that the Bisbee High School gym floor was damaged due to a water leak prompting the move of the winter sports to Lowell Junior High School. Also that week, it was reported the Bisbee City Council passed a notice of intent to adopt an ordinance that would prohibit the placing of signs, cones or objects that would mislead the public into thinking public parking is private or reserved. Mayor Ken Budge said the ordinance request came about because people in Old Bisbee were using signs and objects to mislead people into thinking they cannot park in public places.

In the third issue, it was reported a complaint had been filed against the Cochise County Board of Supervisors and Recorder David Stevens by American Oversight seeking the court to require the County to comply with Arizona Public Record law, demanding the release of public records. According to the complaint filed on January 10, “American Oversight seeks public records relating to the defendants’ decisions and actions regarding the recent reforms in county election administration led by individuals who have adopted policy positions advocated by election denialists – a nationwide network of private actors and allied public officials who falsely claim widespread voter fraud to overturn or subvert election results and undermine public confidence in election administration.”……read full story (online subscribers only)
