Bisbee resident Carol Roles recently fulfilled the goal of her late husband, Carl, to donate one million tabs to the Ronald McDonald House in Tucson.

Roles said, her husband, Carl, was a retiree who loved to get involved and, among other things, wanted to support and expand upon the idea of recycling, so he opened a small recycling business at our warehouse on Center Avenue.

She added, “His recycling efforts were directed mostly toward aluminum cans and one day one of his customers told him about Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona (“RMHC-SA”) who accepts donations of aluminum can tabs. Having friends who utilized and praised the services of Ronald McDonald House in Tucson, Carl began collecting the tabs and set a goal to collect one million tabs, after which he would donate them to RMHC-SA.”….read full story (online subscribers only)
