A bomb threat made against the Cochise County Elections Department Tuesday evening caused the evacuation of the County complex on Melody Lane in Bisbee, causing a delay in the release of election result.

According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) the threat was made to the Elections office around 7:07 p.m. As a result of the threat, the county building had to be evacuated. A heavy law enforcement presence was on scene at the complex.

CCSO requested assistance from Fort Huachuca Department of Defense Bomb Squad (DOD) who responded and conducted an internal and external sweep of the all the buildings and surrounding areas at the complex.….read full story (online subscribers only)
