As the cities ultimatum to either get the through the fence agreement signed or access to the airport would be blocked, the four property owners who access the Bisbee Municipal Airport signed Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the fence agreements Friday, just one day before the city’s deadline.
Bisbee Mayor Ken Budge said last week during the March 4, city council meeting that the lack of having agreements in place has cost the city $1.5 million in federal funds over the years and that the city had no choice but to take action.
He added that the city had been working with the property owners for about two years in an effort to get the FAA required through the fence agreements signed.
