The Bisbee Hospitality Group (BHG) has submitted a proposal to the City of Bisbee to fund a grant in an effort to bring more special events to Bisbee which would be funded through the use of a portion of the bed tax collected.
According to the proposal submitted by BHG members, Carrick Sears, Owner of the Carrick Hotel, Sarah Prochnau, Owner of the Pythian Castle, Amy Naico, Owner of the Oliver House, Nicole France, Canyon Rose Suites and Cole Van Norman, Owner of the Warner Hotel, are requesting the city budget $30,000 from the 2025/26 budget to fund their grant program to bring more events to town.
According to the BHG proposal, “Bisbee has a variety of arts, cultural heritage, and sports-related special events that attract local and non-local participants/audiences. Special events also add to Bisbee’s distinctiveness and character, which makes the city better able to attract and retain skilled, creative and knowledgeable residents and workers.
