An assurance letter offered by the city to allow Bisbee Bikeways to submit grant applications for funding on behalf of the city caused some discord between council members and Bisbee Bikeways founder and president Meggen Connolley.
The agenda item, up for approval at the May 20 city council meeting included, the assurance letter that had been previously discussed at a work session and a $20,000 contribution from the city towards the west end project.
The purpose of the assurance letter is to assist Bisbee Bikeways to pursue grant funding for the west segment of the Lavender Pit Path from the Queen Mine Tour and underpass into Old Bisbee.
