Years of persistence has finally paid off for the city as officials have learned funds have been appropriated for a new fire truck for Bisbee.
Mayor Ken Budge shared the news, “after two years of applying, with the first year of no directed spending projects funded, this year was a win. Both Senators promised me they would put this on their top priority list. Our award of $620,000 for a new Fire Truck is one of only six Rural Development awards given across the entire state.”
Mayor Budge received the news from Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego. The award is for $620,000 through the Senate’s annual Agriculture and Rural Development funding bill. The bill was part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and related Agencies appropriations bill signed into law by President Donald Trump on
