Beautifying the city of Bisbee is what the all-volunteer organization Bisbee Bloomers has been passionate about doing since 2000, when a group of five local people (Carole Beauchamp, Fred Miller, Margaret Hartnett, Jan Munsey and Jean Beuchle) started the group. Their mission was to enhance the natural beauty of the city through planting flowers/plants, adopting parks and educating the public on what they can do to help the cause. They previously bought benches and ashtrays for parks, but now they focus more on coordinating cleanups for parks. They have also received financial support from Bisbee Vogue, Inc. and the city of Bisbee to install the Mutt Mitts (pet bags/cleanup stations) that are in city parks as well as various places throughout the city in areas with more foot/dog traffic.
