The Bisbee Fire Department was recently awarded a $122,000 grant from Arizona Department of Forest and Fire Management (DFFM) for the Healthy Forests Initiative and plans to conduct a fuel reduction initiative on 44.5 acres around Bisbee.
According to Bisbee Fire Chief James Richardson, “The objective of this funding is toprotectionassist communities, which have been identified as having wildfire hazard potential, with fire prevention, critical infrastructure protection, and forest and watershed restoration”.
