Tourism Advisory Board Members Selected

An abundance of interest was shown from people wanting to be a part of advising the city on tourism marketing. Last week the council voted to approve seven members of the community from the 20 that applied to be part of the tourism marketing advisory committee.

During the council discussion on the agenda item Mayor Ken Budge explained the process, saying applicants were looked at individually by each councilmember who each selected their preferences. “I wanted to get the opinions of all council members and all council members turned in their list of their preferences for each.” The preferences were then ranked based on the council preferences by Mayor Budge and interim City Clerk Nina Williams to come up with a committee of seven and their terms.

The council unanimously approved the committee consisting of Sonia Allen, two-year term, Sarah Prochnau one year term, Douglas Dunn two-year term, Stephen Maramarco one year term, Sherri Morgan two year term, Jeremy Fricke one year term and Susan Underhill two-year term at large.
