The July 21, Primary Election results were approved by way of a resolution at the Bisbee city council meeting Tuesday night making the final election numbers official for the record with a total of 1,610 votes cast for mayoral candidates.
The official numbers are in and mayor elect Amy Burkert will be sworn in as Mayor at the first city council meeting in December. Burkert led by an overwhelming voter support in Ward I, Old Bisbee, Burkert received 428 votes or 71.33 percent of the vote, followed by Charles Flanagan who received 141 votes or 23.5 percent. Carl Stetter received 23 votes or 3.83 percent, and Jonnie Waniak received 7 votes or 1.17 percent.
In Ward II Burkert again led in votes, receiving 328 votes or 54.94 percent followed by Flanagan who received 221 votes or 37.02 percent. Waniak received 35 votes or 5.86 percent followed by Stetter received 12 votes or 2.01 percent.
