The Cochise County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve a proposed settlement in the ongoing litigation in the matter of Daniel LaChance v. Cochise County over the all mail election held in 2023 which passed by a very narrow margin.

After reconvening from an executive session at a special meeting Friday, March 21, Cochise County Board of Supervisors Tom Crosby, Kathleen Gomez and Frank Antenori voted to approve a proposed settlement.

The proposed settlement includes the suspension of collection of the jail district sales tax. The agreement also states a new election would be scheduled for November and that the county will pay approximately $130,000 in attorney fees for LaChance and co-defendants……read full story (online subscribers only)
