Bisbee Unified School District (BUSD) fiscal year 2026/2027 maintenance and operation (M&O) budget of $6,599,178 will support 610 students and three aging infrastructure campuses that are 67 to almost 100 years old.
In an interview with BUSD Superintendent Dr. Jennifer McBeth, she shared what it takes to run the district, address obstacles facing the district, cuts, and why the request to continue a 10 percent M&O budget override is necessary.
At the time of the interview Dr. McBeth reported enrollment consisted of 233 students at Greenway Elementary, 121 students at Lowell Junior High School and 253 students at Bisbee High School. Dr. Mc- Beth said the district funding is based on the average daily membership (ADM) and based on budget reports from the last few years. The ADM enrollment has declined causing the district to receive less funding that support the M&O budget. According to the budget report the ADM was 617.6991 in 2025, 598.6155 in 2026 and is projected to be 582.4131 for the 2027 school year.
