Bisbee Unified School District (BUSD) will be moving the district offices this summer, a decision made in an effort to save money due to a decline in enrollment at the three schools in the district.
The district office which is currently located at 519 Melody Lane will make the move back to the second floor at Lowell Junior High School before the start of the 2026/27 school year.
The decision was made as a cost saving measure due to the decline in enrollment and amount of unused space at the school, said BUSD governing Board Secretary Maria Flores. Currently the entire second floor in not being utilized at Lowell School and the school’s current enrollment for sixth, seventh and eighth graders is 111 students.
