The cause of death and the name of woman found at the scene of a fire call at the Pueblo Court Apartments on October 22 has been released.

Bisbee Police Chief Tom Cox said the autopsy report lists the manner of death as a suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Chief Cox also confirmed the woman’s name to be Dayna Rae Cole now that her next of kin has been located.

The story was first reported in the October 30 issue after Bisbee firefighters were called to the apartments for a report of a fire around 5:30 a.m. Bisbee Fire Chief Jim Richardson said firefighters made entry into the apartment after seeing flames through the front window. After entering they found a pile of clothes on fire in the living room and conducted a search of the apartment. Firefighters then found Cole deceased in her bedroom. Police were called in to handle the investigation after the discovery of her body.
