The Bisbee City Council tackled an 18 item agenda at the regular meeting of the mayor and council July 14 including the approval of an AZCART IGA, appointing an interim city clerk, passing eight ordinances and also going into executive session to discuss the actions of a city councilmember.
The last item on the agenda of the meeting, #18, was approving to go into an executive session for discussion and consultation with the city attorney regarding the “matters related to the performance, duties, responsibilities, and conduct of a member of the City Council and to receive legal advice regarding legal and procedural issues” according to information on the agenda. At the end of the meeting Mayor Ken Budge made the motion to go into executive session and after receiving a second to the motion the council voted to go into executive session. Mayor Budge did acknowledge that a person had signed up to speak on the item but said since it was an executive session there would be no discussion.
The councilmembers name was not released nor was there any discussion publicly after the executive session.
