The Bisbee City Council approved a notice of intent to adopt a resolution R-25-06 amending and increasing the sewer fees in the city by three percent.
According to Keri Bagley, Finance Director, this is the second year of a 3 percent increase.
Bagley referenced a rate study that was completed in 2018 by Willdan Financial which recommended a schedule of rate increases to start in July of 2021with a recommended rate increase of 3 percent each year until 2023 and then a rate increase of 2 percent until 2027. Bagley then said the city did not adopt the rate increase until 2024 so in order to get on track the 3 percent increase would be for 2024, 2025, and 2026. She then said the increase would be 2 percent in 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030. “Amendment No. 1to the Renewal Agreement with Jacobs for operations, maintenance and management services for the City of Bisbee San Jose Wastewater Treatment Plant.”….read full story (online subscribers only)
