After a nearly two-hour executive session at the February 17 council meeting, the council directed the city attorney and interim city manager to move forward with negotiations with the Board of Directors of the Bisbee Restoration Museum to figure out what needs to be done in order for the city to own the building.

Mayor Ken Budge said he supported the idea of the city acquiring the building and turning a portion of it into the Bisbee Visitor Center because the 116-year-old building has very important history.

Councilmember Trish Damon said there are many reasons the building would be a perfect fit for the visitor center.
