With over 140 years of serving Bisbee and beyond, Copper Queen Community Hospital (CQCH) is excited to announce the official groundbreaking of the two-story, 35,000 square foot addition that will house the surgery and inpatient unit. The major development denotes the final phase of the overall master facilities plan that began in 2019.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on February 19, headed up by Nathalie O’Shea, public relations & development manager at CQCH. Robert Seamon, chief executive officer of CQCH, and a representative each from building partners SPS+ Architects and Kitchell Contractors spoke to a small group of community leaders/members and healthcare partners about the milestone.
There was an added element of relief in the air, as government delays and furloughs in 2025 pushed back the projected timeline by a little over a year. “This is a very exciting day for us,” said Seamon, “and one we’ve been waiting for for quite some time.”
