Bisbee Mayor Ken Budge said the city is willing to work with Bisbee Forward and negotiate an agreement allowing the non-profit group to represent the city for marketing purposes but that it has to be done at the pace in which government operates.

At the October 7 city council meeting Bisbee Forward President Steve Ball made a presentation to the council on the groups plan to assist the city with improving market strategies to increase overnight stays and generate more revenue for the town. Ball had previously made a presentation to the council encouraging them to work with Bisbee Forward and swiftly come up with an agreement so the group could begin to assist the city with marketing. Reiterating at last week’s meeting time is of the essences because tourism in Bisbee is down.

After the presentation October 7, Mayor Budge told Ball the council is willing to move forward but first needs to meet with the city attorney to iron out details to formulate an agreement allowing Bisbee Forward to represent the city.
