Goar Park lunches will temporarily move to a a space owned by the City of Bisbee after receiving notice from their landlord, Bisbee’s local Freemasons Lodge that they would need to vacate due to a cancelation of insurance.
Dennis Walto, the Vice Chair of the Board for Healthy Bisbee / Goar Park Lunches said their organization received the email notification that they must vacate the building by September 18. Walto shared the email which states, “I am writing to inform you that our insurance provider will no longer insure the building because the location has been designated a high fire risk area. Consequently, we will not be able to use the facility once the current policy expires. The building must be vacated and can no longer be used after September 18. I am very sorry to deliver this difficult news, and I sincerely hope you can find a new location for Goar Park Lunches soon.” The email was sent by Ward DeSplinter, P.M. Mt. Moriah #19, W.M. Perfect Ashlar #12.
Walto said despite short notice to vacate Goar Park Lunches will press forward and has secured facilities to continue to serve the community.
