Governor Katie Hobbs announced $8 million in Rural Infrastructure Projects have been awarded to include funds for Bisbee’s Wastewater Treatment facility.

According to a press release Bisbee was awarded $253,500 for Wastewater Treatment facilty upgrades to the nearly 20-year-old plant which is in need of critical system improvements. The city will match the grant with $338,350 in funding for the upgrades.

Mayor Ken Budge said in the press release from the governor’s office, “the funding granted to the City of Bisbee from SBRC will play a critical role in upgrading and rehabilitating aging wastewater infrastructure that is essential to ensure public health.
