Neary 300 residents and multiple businesses from Bills Place to Santa Cruz Dr. and Coy St. to Cleveland Ave. were left without electricity, internet and phone for several hours Monday after a semi hauling an oversized load took out three utility poles while traveling down Naco Highway.

The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. Monday. Naco Highway was blocked off for several hours as APS crews worked to replace the poles destroyed. Electric service was restored just after 8 p.m. Phone and internet services remained out for a few more hours as lines were repaired.

According to Bisbee Police the driver was cited for the accident but also did say the semi driver reported he had 16-foot clearance which should have not been an issue to transport his load down Naco Highway.
