City Can’t Collect $1 Million For Feeding Those In Need, Grant Will Go To Area Non-profit

Bisbee Mayor Ken Budge announced the city cannot receive the $1 million set aside in the Arizona State budget because the city is not a non-profit, but did say the funds will still come to the area.

The $1 million secured by State Representative Consuelo Hernandez that were announced to the public back in July of this year will now go to the Southern Arizona Community Food Bank.

According to Mayor Ken Budge Department of Economic Security will handle a contract with Southern Arizona Community Food Bank in an effort to utilize the money before the June 30, 2025, deadline.
