Cochise County Superior Court Judge Richard Karwaczka issued a continuance in the case of a homeless man charged with murdering a 73-year-old Bisbee man last year at a hearing on July 17 where it was confirmed the man’s medical records have now been received by the defense team and are under review.

Judge Karwaczka had previously ordered the continuance in June stating the court is still awaiting medical records to see if Nathan Banbury, the man charged with the murder of Lee Vance, is competent to stand trial.

At Friday’s hearing Banbury’s attorney, Stephen Robertson said he now had the records and they were being reviewed by a doctor and asked for a continuance to allow more time so that the records can be reviewed…..read full story (online subscribers only)
