Naco School is seeking voter approval for a 12 percent budget override to offer students expanded programs to include arts and athletics.
According to Kristen King, Business Manager at Naco School, the money would go towards setting up a music program, something she said Naco School currently does not have on a permanent basis. She said currently kindergarten through fifth graders are offered music though a grant but since the school has students K through eighth grade the school wants to be able to offer students an opportunity to participate in choir and band.
In addition to creating a music program the school plans to expand the sports program to offer soccer. “We are currently making improvements to the grounds. We are resurfacing the track and adding a soccer filed.”….read full story (online subscribers only)
