After many years as City Manager, Bisbee City Manager Stephen Pauken informed the mayor and council on Tuesday, November 11 he will be leaving his post effective January 3, 2026.

In a phone interview Tuesday, Pauken said he has accomplished pages of goals he set included one big promise he made to city staff and the community which was to rebuild city hall. Pauken said in his resignation letter, “during almost five years, we have accomplished a lot, and I would dare to say that they have been five of the most productive years in our city’s history. The list of accomplishments is large, and I will provide it under separate cover, but the most important accomplishment has been the team of professionals we have assembled that makes it all happen. To them I owe a debt of gratitude
