The Bisbee City Council selected a firm to assist the city with the process of finding a new city manager to replace Stephen Pauken who left the position in January.

At the February 3 city council meeting, the council held an executive session to discuss and consult with City Attorney Joe Estes, regarding the three firms the city was considering. After reconvening and public discussion, the council was in unanimous agreement to select the Duffy Group based out of Phoenix.

While discussing the agenda item on selecting a firm, Mayor Ken Budge said the firm selected would assist with the hiring process when the council is ready to move forward. Budge said the council meet with Estes in executive session to discuss contractual situations with each of the three firms being considered because the council was going to hold off starting the hiring process due to concerns.
