Taking the lead to eliminate fatal and serious injury traffic crashes in the area, the City of Bisbee is now a Vision Zero City. On June 17, at the Bisbee City Council bimonthly meeting, Resolution R-25-1, a resolution of the mayor and council, City of Bisbee and Cochise County establishing the City of Bisbee as a Vision Zero Community, was approved.

The traffic safety policy takes an ethical approach toward achieving safety for all road users, which is in alignment with the Bisbee Area Mobility Master Plan and will be instrumental in securing future grant funding through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) programs from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

As the lives and wellbeing of all people living and traveling within the city is a top priority of this initiative, the mayor and council members are doing their part to prevent serious injuries and deaths on Bisbee’s city streets.
